Tim Weed Contact: Weed has received international acclaim for Milagros, his collection of original classical works for the 5-string banjo, which is regularly featured on National Public Radio. He displays magnificent technique and reveals the banjo's lyricism and sophistication with deep expression, rich tone, complexity, and beauty. All of his banjo compositions are original, and he is recognized as one of the great innovators on the instrument. In 2005, he was invited to perform a concert of this music for the Dalai Lama. Weed comes from a musical family and began his professional career as a teen banjo prodigy performing with some of the most influential musicians in bluegrass music. He later turned his interest to guitar and voice - performing, writing, producing, arranging and recording in a wide variety of musical styles with the best musicians and recording studios in Los Angeles. After working for many years as a film composer, Weed rediscovered the banjo and began playing, composing, and recording his own virtuosic classical banjo music. Recently he's been using the name Tim Weed instead of his full name, Tim Wiedenkeller. He laughs and says, "My friends like to joke about how playing classical banjo music with an impossible name like Wiedenkeller is a recipe for obscurity - so I’m trying Tim Weed to see if it'll stick any better." Joining Weed will be vocalist, guitarist & percussionist Debbie Daly. Daly is a powerful vocalist whose singing has been compared to that of Alison Krauss, Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt.
